Anita began attending FAD (Fazendo A Diferenca – Making A Difference) when she was eight years old. As she grew, we paid for English classes for her, beginning around the age of 13. Her family was poor and her mother was confined to a wheelchair. This is the reason she wanted to become a doctor. Anita was always very dedicated to her mother.
FAD also supported Anita as she prepared for college, including paying for her entrance exam preparation classes. She was accepted into college to study Physical Therapy.
We financially supported Anita through the first two years of college, helping her continue her education during an important stage of her journey. Today, Anita is pursuing her master’s degree in Physical Therapy. She still supports FAD whenever she has the opportunity.
Anita is an example of how FAD seeks not only to support children while they are young, but also to invest in their education, develop their abilities, and encourage them to become leaders who give back to their own community.
