Give These Children A Reason To Hope

More than a monthly gift, it’s a relationship.

What Child Sponsorship Provides

Every dollar of your monthly sponsorship goes directly to the Queimadas Community Center in Brazil. Since all US operations are run by volunteers who also cover their own costs, 100% of your contribution supports the children.

Your sponsorship isn’t earmarked for one child alone; it goes into a shared fund that supports every child at the center, whether they have a sponsor yet or not. This fund covers the center’s operations, staff payroll, and daily meals for the children.

As a sponsor, you’ll get updates on your child’s progress and can write letters back and forth with them. We believe giving is a two-way street; the relationships built through sponsorship bless both the giver and the receiver.

What Life Is Like for Our Sponsored Children

A Typical Day

FAD currently serves about 120 children and teenagers, while around 80 more are still waiting for a place in the program. Many come from families facing poverty, unemployment, single-parent homes, or grandparents raising grandchildren. Some also face violence, addiction in the family, and a lack of support or opportunity.

A typical child spends their day between school and FAD, attending one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. They usually spend about four hours at school and four hours at the center, often walking or using school transport to get there.

What We Provide

For many children, Making A Difference Ministries is much more than an after-school program. It is a place where they are known, loved, safe, and encouraged. It provides meals, education, stability, positive relationships, and hope in an environment where they are valued and supported. We also give children a safe alternative to spending time on the streets, helping protect them from negative influences such as drug use and gang involvement while guiding them toward a future filled with purpose and opportunity.

Sponsorship makes this possible. It allows children to be part of FAD, receive daily care, and grow in a safe environment. More than meeting basic needs, sponsorship is an investment in a child’s future and the belief that their circumstances do not define their destiny.
