Is My Donation Tax Deductible?

Yes. MAD Ministry (Making a Difference Ministries) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN [86-1063695]. Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. You’ll receive a receipt via email for your records, and we’ll send an annual giving statement each January for tax filing purposes. For specific questions about your deduction, we recommend consulting a tax professional.

How Is My Donation Used?

Every dollar of your monthly sponsorship goes directly to the Queimadas Community Center in Brazil. Since all US operations are run by volunteers who also cover their own costs, 100% of your contribution supports the children.

Your sponsorship isn’t earmarked for one child alone; it goes into a shared fund that supports every child at the center, whether they have a sponsor yet or not. This fund covers the center’s operations, staff payroll, and daily meals for the children.

As a sponsor, you’ll get updates on your child’s progress and can write letters back and forth with them. We believe giving is a two-way street; the relationships built through sponsorship bless both the giver and the receiver.

What’s The Difference Between Donating and Sponsoring?

A one-time or general donation supports MAD Ministry’s mission as a whole, meeting the most pressing needs across our programs and Community Center in Queimadas. Sponsorship is a monthly commitment connected to a specific child, giving you an ongoing relationship, updates, and a front-row seat to their story as they grow. Both directly fund the same programs; sponsorship simply gives you a consistent, personal way to stay connected to the impact you’re making.

Can I Cancel A Recurring Gift?

Yes, absolutely. Your giving is always in your control. Recurring sponsorships and donations happen through Breeze, our secure donor management system. You can update your credit card, contact information, or giving frequency, including pausing or canceling, at any time by visiting your Breeze donor portal. If you’d rather make the change over the phone or by email, just reach out to us using the form at the right and we’re happy to help.
